COMMERCIAL PERIODIC INSPECTION AND TESTING

A Commercial Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a practical & visual survey carried out on a commercial electrical installation. A report is produced detailing the overall condition of the electrical installation and whether it is deemed in a satisfactory condition for continued use. Following the EICR, we will provide you with a quotation for any remedial works that are recommended to rectify any faults found.

  • EICR is carried out for the following reasons:
  • To assess compliance with the latest electrical regulations
  • On change of occupancy of the premises
  • After alterations or additions to the original installation
  • Because of any significant change in the electrical loading of the installation
  • Where there is reason to believe that damage may have been caused to the installation
  • An engineer or two depending upon the size of the premises will attend site and carry out a visual inspection and electrical test of the installation. This may be done out of office hours if necessary to prevent any disruption to your working day.
  • For most commercial establishments the maximum period between EICR is 5 years or on change of occupancy. This timescale is different for swimming pools, leisure complexes and theatres.

A Domestic Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a practical & visual survey carried out on a domestic electrical installation. A EICR is carried out for the following reasons:

  • To assess compliance with the latest electrical regulation
  • On change of occupancy of the property
  • After alterations or additions to the original installation

  • Where there is reason to believe that damage may have been caused to the installation
  • An engineer will attend site and carry out a visual inspection and electrical test of the installation. This is done during normal working hours and will require the installation to be powered down in certain areas for the practical test to be carried out.
  • For domestic properties the maximum period between EICR is 10 years or on change of occupancy.
